My Literacy work

In literacy we have four groups Kowhai and Manuka and Nikau and Miro.

We do BQ  is  book quest and Iw is  inspired writing and T is Teacher and Ns is novel study and Wl is  word lab.

We do rotations every  literacy time. NS its my favourite Thing to do in literacy time.

For book quest we choose a letter from the alphabet. my favourite one to do is A for animal after you choose you letter you go to the library and find a book about animals. the letter I choose is a after you read the book you write on your sheet and write the date.

What i did in the holidays

  What I learnt in the holidays

I learnt how to do my times table a bit better in the holidays from my Mum

Every night me and my mum will find a chapter book and I would read one chapter every night.

I would go on the farm with my dad and help him count the cows to see if one of them escaped.

And I made some storeys about the farm and I learnt how to spell Dictionary i think that is how you spell it.

I love school days but i love learning to because it helps like when you what a job or just even for normal things.

I love learning for lots of reason

 One hot day there were three friends, they snuck out of school and went to the beach when the teacher Nic

noticed the Tsunami alarm went off. When they made it to the beach they heard the alarm and saw all the water go out. They saw a  big wave coming towards them, it was going to hit them! They all started to run, they were half way up the hill when they herd a crash on the side of the mountain. They started to sprint! When they made it to the top Jackie herd a silent scream, we all ran over to the to the scream  and all they saw was fingers  hanging of the cliff when Makayla looked  over it was Jimi. We helped him up he had cuts,  when one single drop of blood hit the water...

In less then a minute sharks came,  we all heard a crash, the sharks swam away, the ground shook and we all screamed and yelled.

Aroha had the silly idea of walking down the mountain and jump across all of the junk in the water because of the Tsunami. We all started running down when we were just about out of town. Luckily we all made it back to school. When we got back, the Tsunami was there and we were all was scared of the wave.

Top team day/fun day

 Today is Top team day/fun day, in case you don't know what it is it's when do all of these fun activites and can possibly win house points.

On Top Team day we all split up in to six different groups for example - Brunner 1, Brunner 2, Kehu 1, Kehu 2, Raureka 1 and Raureka 2. There was lots of games and instead of the game when you steal other peoples balls (Rob the Nest) you steal other peoples water with cups and its much funner, we also did sack races and the game when we had to block the holes in the pipe and Tui poured water in to the pipe to get the ball out, we also had a game when we had to build a house out of blue wooden blocks we made up to 25cm the red team won they made a red house and made it up to 50cm, also we had a sling shot game, ski game its when we all had to put our feet in these pockets and lift our feet at the same time.

Like top team day we have also been doing athletics and swimming  sports. I think sports are really good for us because it  keeps us fit and healthy and if you ever get injured if you already play sports or do some kind  of fitness it will be easier to get back to your original state because sport and fitness keeps your bones nice and strong. That is what I think about the value of sport.

why are mistakes important for leaning.

Mistakes are good for learning because when you make mistakes you learn how to fix them.

Mistakes are also good because you learn from your mistakes.

Mistakes are an important part of learning process without mistakes in learning your brain won't learn anything it will but only a little bit.

Your brain will simply drift along on its way will never really growing and never really learn.

Mistakes are proof that you are trying your best.
